INTRODUCTION TO TELECOMMUNICATION AUTHORITY OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO The Telecommunications situation of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) was established in July 2004 by the Telecommunications Act 2001 Amended by 17 of 2004 as an independent regulatory body whose responsibility is for the transformation of the telecommunications heavenly sphere from a monopoly to a competitive environment. The Authority is not solo responsible for the liberalisation of the telecommunications sector, but also for regulation two telecommunications and broadcasting sectors, managing spectrum and number resources, establishing equipment and service quality standards, cathode-ray oscilloscope guidelines to observe illegal practices and encouraging investment in pass to advance the availability of affordable telecommunications and broadcasting services to all.
